I’m in the odd position of preferring Rodea the Sky Soldier on Wii U versus the generally agreed upon better release on Wii.

While HD visuals are a part of the equation for Nintendo to earn back the hardcore gamer, there is another big requirement for them to compete with Microsoft and Sony – online gaming. While Nintendo’s last few systems have supported online functionality, they have been rather weak, not offering much beyond a just pure gameplay between players. Nintendo still has their protective goal in mind, but should Nintendo create a whole other online experience for older consumers?
